As baptized people we are called to be light to the earth, hope for the hopeless, sight for the blind. Baptism is the sacrament that allows us to experience the greatness of God. Once we experience His greatness, we are to be changed into greatness as well.

Father John Capuci was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston in 1990. He has preached throughout the country and internationally. Using real life stories and humor Father Capuci intertwines faith, life and ministry. He has been in various ministries including the director of the Center of Jesus the Lord, New Orleans and pastor of St Malachy Parish, Burlington.

Father John Kiley, Presented on Monday March 11, 2013 Confirmation Let the Fire Fall. Responding to the grace of confirmation renews us so that we are able to go forth and invite others to share the beauty of life in Christ. Set on fire and gifted by the Holy Spirit we are sent to share the good news of Jesus and to serve others especially the poor, Father John Kiley was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston in 1970. He is now pastor of Holy Family Parish of Gloucester/Rockport. He has served in parishes of the Archdiocese of Boston as parochial vicar, member of a team ministry, and pastor. While involved in the many aspects of parish life, he has a particular interest in evangelization, liturgy and worship, and adult faith formation. He has also been involved in Cursillo, Charismatic Renewal, and the Fraternity of Priests.

Father George Morin presented on Tuesday March 12, 2013 – Eucharist: Become What You Receive. The source and summit of our Christian life is the gift of Eucharist. We not only receive Eurcharist, we MUST become Eurcharist for others. You will experience a wonderful speaker who users imagery intertwined with the word to present an unforgettable evangelical moment. Father George Morin, was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston, in 1970. In his over 42 years as a priest he has served in various parishes and now as the Pastor of Holy Redeemer Parish, Merrimac/West Newbury. He has been involved with cursillo. He is the co-founder of CAMPS in 1984. CAMPS is a youth ministry program that has been attended by approximately 7000 youth of Junior High and High School age. As a newly ordained priest, he served for five years at St. Peter’s Parish in Gloucester.

Parish Pastoral Planning -2013

As you know, the Archdiocese has presented a new pas-toral plan for all the parishes. At some time in the future Holy Family Parish and Our Lady of Good Voyage parish will be led by one pastoral team consisting of priests, deacon(s), and lay staff. The first phase will begin in January 2013. Fr. Alves and Fr. Kiley have indicated to the Diocese that we would prefer to be involved in the third phase which begins in January 2016. Pray that the Lord will bless these endeavors.

Knights of Columbus Events

March 31st – KofC Catholic Scholarship Applications Due 3/31 – college age students related to a Knight of Columbus are encouraged to apply for a chance to win a $1000. Please contact grandknight@kofc215.com for an application.

April 9th will be our regular council meeting at 7:00 pm at St Ann’s School.

April 27th – The Knights will prepare and serve a meal at the Open Door Food Pantry. Please contact us if you’d like to participate at grandknight@kofc215.com. You don’t need to be a Knight to help.

May 14th – will be our regular council meeting at 7:00 pm at St Ann’s School.

May 18th – The Knights will be running a canned food drive on May 18th to support our St Vincent dePaul Society – stay tuned for details. Please contact us if you’d like to participate at grandknight@kofc215.com. You don’t need to be a Knight to help.

June 11th – will be our regular council meeting and elections at 7:00 pm at St Ann’s School.

The meeting was divided into two parts, a talk by Father Kiley with a period of feedback from the parishioners, and Eucharistic benediction. Fr.
